Shincha is what tea farmers call the youngest, fresh tea leaves of the early season. We source this fine tea from one of Japan's southernmost islands, Kagoshima, from the Niji garden. The particularly fertile soil and perfect shading provided by the Kabuse nets create ideal conditions for teas of exceptional top quality. Especially the Shincha teas from this garden are characterized by their velvety-light body. Like all top pickings, this delicate tea is rolled several times, then briefly heated and again extremely cooled. This prevents any fermentation and allows the leaves to develop their extraordinary aroma.
